
Leroy Salvador
Leroy Salvador was a Filipino actor and film director who began his career as a child star. He first appeared in the 1946 film Aladin, portraying the young version of the title character played by Jaime de la Rosa. Recognised as one of the most talented figures in Philippine cinema, Salvador later became known for his versatility both in front of and behind the camera. He was the eldest among the well-known Salvador family in the entertainment industry. In 1953, he earned the FAMAS Best Supporting Actor Award for his performance in Huk sa Bagong Pamuhay (1953), a role that also brought him international recognition when he received the Best Supporting Actor Award at the Asia-Pacific Film Festival that same year. Decades later, he won another FAMAS Best Supporting Actor Award for the film Init (1979), cementing his legacy as one of Philippine cinema’s most accomplished and enduring performers.
